BIDDER’S SHIPCHECK
Solicitation No: N32205-16-R-4601
MSC is offering (2) opportunities for shipyards to attend a Bidder’s Shipcheck for the USS MT WHITNEY’s FY17 ESLP Availability. The first Bidder’s Shipcheck will be held 13, 14 & 15 May 2016, pier side in Gaeta, Italy. During this Bidder’s Shipcheck, MSC will provide discussions and tours for the following series of work items; 0000, 0100, 0200, 0300, 0400, 0700 and 0900. The second Bidder’s Shipcheck will be held 18, 19 & 20 May 2016 at Villefranche anchorage. During this Bidder’s Shipcheck, MSC will provide discussions and tours of the remaining series of work items; 0500, 0600 & 0800. If a shipyard is unable to attend both Bidder’s Shipcheck and wishes to discuss/view all work items during either of the dates mentioned, then MSC will do their best to accommodate.
The first Bidder’s Shipcheck in Gaeta Italy will begin at 0830 onboard the vessel with a brief discussion of the 0000 work items followed by a PowerPoint presentation covering the 0700 Communication Systems work items and 0900 shafting work items. Following these discussions and presentations, MSC will divide into groups and provide tours of particular work items requested by shipyards.
The second Bidder’s Shipcheck will take place at anchorage off of Villefranche, France. We anticipate the MTW to be anchored on the 17 May 2016 but vessel will not be available for shipcheck until the following morning, 18 May 2016. Launches to/from MTW are expected to begin 0800 each day. Exact location to catch the launch will be provided separately. Anticipate launches to run approximately every 30 minutes. Bidder’s Shipcheck to begin at 0900 with a brief discussion, followed by a PowerPoint presentation covering the 0600 habitability mods. Following the discussions and presentation, MSC will divide into groups and provide tours of particular work items requested by shipyards.
Offerors will be required to submit any questions during the Bidder's Shipcheck in writing to the MSC Contracting Officer on a daily basis. All questions received will be combined into a single document. MSC will attempt to provide answers to all questions as soon as possible during the Bidder's Shipcheck. All questions and answers will be posted to the Federal Business Opportunities website under the solicitation notice for offerors to review.
Offerors interested in attending are required to provide its organizations name and point of contact information, the locations that will be attended, as well as a list of names and title for each person attending the Bidder’s Shipcheck to the Contracting Officer Daniel Glod at daniel.glod@navy.mil. Requests for attendance shall be submitted no later than 03 May 2016. Upon receipt of the list of attendees the Contracting officer will provide security access instructions for each requested shipcheck location. Anyone that does not provide this information will not receive security access instructions and will not be allowed access to the vessel.
