A: Yes in accordance with the drawings the joiner bulkhead shall be removed in its entirety, including the blue combing kick plate.
Q: WI 0102 Laundry Structural Fire Protection Section 3.1(e) Space 5-88-0-Q For access to installation of new bulkheads, it is necessary to dismount and withdraw approximately 30 pieces of different cables (3x70 to 3x1.5mm) and mount in passage ways.
1. Which systems do these cables belong to and what are the approximate lengths?
2. Does the insulation present on the old cables contain asbestos?
3. Do the cables on the port side of this laundry space belong to the de-gousing system and is it necessary to dismount/withdraw them for bulkhead installation?
A:
1. It is the Contractors responsibility to determine the best method to satisfy the requirements of the WI.
2. MSC is unaware of any cable insulation containing asbestos.
3. Yes these cables belong to the De-gousing system. Removal is not required however penetrations shall be in accordance with A-0 Class.
Q: WI 0102 Laundry Structural Fire Protection With regard to room 2-14-0 Officer Laundry, there is an elbow to be rebuilt in heavy steel 5mm, connected to this bend there is a dryer exhaust duct. Is it acceptable to change the connection with a heavy steel elbow, install the fire damper, and make the new distribution galvanized steel?
A: MSC agrees with the proposed solution. MSC intends to amend this WI to reflect this approach as acceptable.
Q: WI 0102 Laundry Structural Fire Protection We understand that new fire dampers must be manual type (not with electrical actuator). Is it required to supply double manual control? (each side of the bulkhead?).
A: Yes, MSC intends to amend the WI to reflect this requirement.

A: It should not be assumed that 80” height will apply for all areas. Heights will vary depending on location. The contractor is responsible to determine the appropriate height as applicable.
Q: 0600 Items General Question on HVAC/ Air Balancing Following discussion on board, the assumption is made that existing airflow will be enough to cover the required standard in terms of air flow needed and quality. How will the air flow be regulated inside the dorm areas? (Regulation dampers; how many? Where?)
A: Per the WI the Contractor is required to balance the system. In order to balance the system the contractor will be required to install balancing dampers at each branch.
