About this file
This technical specification document (Section 32 13 14) from Tinker Air Force Base details non-airfield pavement standards and specifications for April 2019, adopting the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) Standard Specifications for Highway Construction. The document provides comprehensive guidelines for non-airfield paving projects, including roads, streets, parking facilities, storage areas, sidewalks, driveways, bridges, and associated infrastructure elements.
Key technical requirements include concrete strength specifications (minimum 650 psi flexural strength), mandatory drainage and separation layers for pavements over 8 inches thick, concrete curbs and gutters placed separately from pavement, and specific subgrade preparation protocols. The specifications mandate using materials from the ODOT Approved Material Suppliers List, with all materials requiring ODOT approval for their intended use. The document also provides definitional substitutions for various terms, replacing standard transportation department terminology with Tinker Air Force Base-specific references, while maintaining that all project correspondence must be channeled through the Contracting Officer.
