1.0. INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND:
1.1. Mission. The Global Cyberspace Integration Center’s mission is to enable global decision superiority across air, space, and cyberspace components by improving information quality and speed through assured delivery and quality of service. The GCIC teams with Major Commands (MAJCOMs) and Air Force Cyberspace Command (AFCYBER) to represent their war-fighting requirements to modernize, improve, and seamlessly integrate Air Force cyber capabilities. It supports and collaborates with other Services, Combatant Commanders and coalition partners, ensuring Air Force cyber capabilities support the full range of military and national agency operations.
1.2. GCIC Facilities and Networks. To meet its mission, the GCIC uses dedicated facilities, systems and networks to conduct technical and operational events. These facilities are currently the Cyberspace Innovation Capability (CIC), the Collateral Operations Floor, and a dedicated capability in the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF); collectively these facilities are known as the Cyber Hot Bench. Cyber Hot Bench events include, but are not limited to, innovation activities, experiments, operational and technical assessments, tests and evaluations, demonstrations, engineering spirals, exercises and training.
