Amendment A00003 Questions & Answers AOI 009 27 July 2020
Q: Provide interface requirements for Wet Wing Defuel from C-130 and C-17. Note: TLC typically supply their commercial space launch clients with modular end-connections, so they are able to adapt and exchange fittings as needed.
A: 4” male Cam-lock and Single Point Pressure Fuel Servicing Adapter (SPR) connection (Adding both will provide ability to receive from FARP/WWD or commercial) IAW T.O. 37A-1-101, Para 4.1.15
Q: Provide additive injection requirements in the event additives are needed (e.g., contracted fuel) to incorporate into design.
A: Separate system will be utilized and determined in the pre-planning stage if needed (Mendez Cart or dope procedures) N/A
Q: Provide fuel filter requirements to incorporate into design.
A: EI 1581, 6th Edition filtration standards required IAW T.O. 42B1-1, Para 3.4 (3)
Q: Assess Diesel America West DPL100-3MFC pump/performance curve to determine whether pump meets pressure control requirements. If not, provide pump/PSI regulation requirements to incorporate into design.
A: Need to know primary pressure relief/bypass of pump (not specified on pump spec sheet) N/A
Q: Provide any specific grounding requirements to incorporate into design.
A: Requires two (2) Static Reels, spring rewind w/75 ft. of plastic-coated cable w/military-style ground clamp (1-bonding; 1-grounding with grounding rod) IAW T.O. 00-25-172, Para 2.12
Q: Provide sampling port requirements to incorporate into design.
A: Requires Gammon type sample ports plumbed downstream and upstream of filter separator. IAW UFC 3-460-01, Para 7-5 (l)
