QUESTION AND ANSWER TEMPLATE
Solicitation: FA2521-22-B-0002 Project Number: DBEH 20-1501
Project Description: Renovate ICO Facility35420 at Cape Canaveral SFS, FL
Contractor Name: _QBS, Inc________________________
POC: _Matthew Martin_____________________
IFB Section _08 33 23_________ Paragraph __3.1.1_______
SOW/Technical Specification/Drawings paragraph/page __A-601 General Note 2_________
Other (Specify) _RFI from 12 April, 2022__________________________
Question: _There is a contradiction between one of the answered RFIs from 12 April and the spec. 08 33 23 para. 3.1.1 and a general note from A-601. The RFI states, “. . . only the metal siding is to be painted” but in the coiling door spec. it states, “3.1.1 Field Painted Finish Contractor shall field paint existing overhead coiling doors, including frames, interior and exterior sides of slats, and related components in accordance with Section 09 90 00 PAINTS AND COATINGS requirements in color(s) to match existing, unless otherwise indicated.”
Also on Sheet A-601 General note 2 states to paint the exterior doors, presumably both sides of the exterior door.
Please advise: Shall the contractor paint only the metal exterior siding per the RFI, or shall the contractor also paint the existing interior and exterior side of the coiling doors and the exterior personnel doors as stated in the Div. 08 spec. and drawing A-601 respectively?
Answer: CES Response: Follow the specifications as referenced, paint interior and exterior of coiling doors and frames. The previous RFI response will be corrected.

SOW/Technical Specification/Drawings paragraph/page _A-601 General Note 2__________

There is another drawing contradiction. Inside the building do we clean & paint the exterior walls like the General Note 2 says or should we NOT paint the N, S, E & W walls in the Garage Room No. 100 as the Finish Schedule directs as “N/A”? Please advise.
Answer: 45 CES Response: The general note refers to the exterior face of the exterior walls. The finish schedule, to include room 100, refers to the interior portion of the exterior walls. The room 100 interior walls referred to indicate no painting because they have a fabric insulated finish, which should not be painted.
