The most common suspects counterfeit materials found at US Department of Energy facilities have been threaded fasteners fraudulently marked as high strength bolts. Also included are electrical circuit breakers with false certifications. If the subcontractor suspects any counterfeit material being utilized, contact the Construction Coordinator immediately. Suspect/Counterfeit Items (S/CI) should be removed from the material supply inventory, labeled as S/CI, and quarantined to prevent inadvertent use until the nature of the item has been determined.
