About this file

This is Addendum No. 1 to the project manual for West Texas A&M University's 2025 Roof Replacement Project (Project No. 25-1183-49), issued by Armko, a registered Texas engineering firm, on February 16, 2026. The addendum incorporates specification additions and drawing revisions to the existing signed and sealed project manual. The primary additions include the incorporation of Specification Section 07 56 00 for Applied Acrylic Coating Over Granulated Modified Bitumen into the bid package and updates to Drawing Sheet R1.04 indicating the location for an additional skylight as called out in specific roof notes. The work involves the installation of a fluid-applied acrylic coating system designed specifically for granulating modified bitumen roof surfaces, with surface preparation and two-layer reflective coating application included as part of the system scope.

The specification establishes stringent quality control requirements, mandating that contractors be approved applicators of the primary coating manufacturer prior to bid submission and requiring the manufacturer to have a minimum of 20 years in roof coating production and membership in good standing with the National Roofing Contractors' Association. The acrylic coating system specifications include coverage rates of 1.5 gallons per square for both base and top coats, with a dry time of three hours at 70 degrees Fahrenheit and 50 percent relative humidity. Contractors must submit evidence of approved applicator status, a list of successfully completed similar projects, and financial information. A five-year contractor warranty covering defects in workmanship and materials and a ten-year manufacturer warranty for the coating system are required upon project completion and acceptance by the owner's representative.
