Project: WA RRP RIDG 100(2) River ‘S’ Bridge Replacement
Bidders please note: Before preparing the bid, carefully read the Solicitation Provisions.
Insert a unit bid price, in figures, for each pay item for which a quantity appears in the bid schedule. Multiply the unit bid price by the quantity for each pay item and show the amount bid. Should any mathematical check made by the Government show a mistake in the amount bid, the Amount Bid for the item will be based on the Unit Bid Price.
When a “LPSM” (Lump Sum) appears as a unit bid price, insert an amount for each lump sum pay item.
When a sum based on a fixed rate appears for any pay item in the amount bid column, include the Government inserted amount bid for the item in the total bid amount.
Total the amounts bid for all pay items and insert the total bid amount.
Do not include an amount to protect against contingent cost increases to prices subject to the escalation coverage.

(b) The Government assumes no responsibility for any conclusions or interpretations made by the Contractor based on the information made available by the Government. Nor does the Government assume responsibility for any understanding reached or representation made concerning conditions which can affect the work by any of its officers or agents before the execution of this contract, unless that understanding or representation is expressly stated in this contract.
52.236-4 Physical Data (Apr 1984)
Data and information furnished or referred to below is for the Contractor’s information. The Government shall not be responsible for any interpretation of or conclusion drawn from the data or information by the Contractor.
(a) The indications of physical conditions on the drawings and in the specifications are the result of site investigations by: N/A..

52.236-5 Material and Workmanship (Apr 1984)
(a) All equipment, material, and articles incorporated into the work covered by this contract shall be new and of the most suitable grade for the purpose intended, unless otherwise specifically provided in this contract. References in the specifications to equipment, material, articles, or patented processes by trade name, make, or catalog number, shall be regarded as establishing a standard of quality and shall not be construed as limiting competition. The Contractor may, at its option, use any equipment, material, article, or process that, in the judgment of the Contracting Officer, is equal to that named in the specifications, unless otherwise specifically provided in this contract.
(b) The Contractor shall obtain the Contracting Officer’s approval of the machinery and mechanical and other equipment to be incorporated into the work. When requesting approval, the Contractor shall furnish to the Contracting Officer the name of the manufacturer, the model number, and other information concerning the performance, capacity, nature, and rating of the machinery and mechanical and other equipment. When required by this contract or by the Contracting Officer, the Contractor shall also obtain the Contracting Officer’s approval of the material or articles which the Contractor contemplates

Special Contract Requirements Project: WA RRP RIDG 100(2), River S Bridge Replacement weathering agent containers until required for application that day. Do not use weathering agent with an expired shelf life, or weathering agent from a punctured or opened container.
Add the following to paragraph (b)(3):
Apply weathering agent according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Limit the weathering agent to 1-ft below the finished ground line along face of wall.
Control or modify weathering agent finishes for rock and concrete by custom blending the specified ingredients; modifying application techniques; diluting with water; or a combination thereof. Finish rock and concrete surfaces according to the approved, applicable test panel.
Apply weathering agent to the required galvanized surfaces and allow the finish to cure at the manufacturer’s facility, developing the full coloration within two weeks of application.
Finish galvanized surfaces according to the approved quality control sample.
Add the following to paragraph (b)(4):
Cure each application of weathering agent according to the manufacturer’s recommendations, and before shipping colored products to the project site.
563.11 Other Metals. Add the following to paragraph (b):
Treat galvanized steel field cuts; and all damaged galvanizing according to the applicable requirements of ASTM A 780.
563.12 Acceptance. Add the following:
Repair damages to reactive colorant finishes on galvanized metals by field applying weathering agent to damaged areas until the finish matches that of the approved quality control sample.
Repair damages to reactive colorant finishes on non-metallic surfaces by applying weathering agent to damaged areas until the finish matches that of the approved applicable test panel.
Reactive colorant finishes will be evaluated under Subsections 106.02.

Special Contract Requirements Project: WA RRP RIDG 100(2), River S Bridge Replacement
Delete the text of the second paragraph of (c) and substitute the following:
Use smooth, clean, watertight steel casing of sufficient strength to withstand handling, installation stresses, concrete placement, and surrounding earth pressures. Make the outside diameter of the casing no less than the specified size of the shaft. Make the inside diameter of the casing no greater than the specified diameter of the shaft plus 67 inches. For pier 3 and abutment 2, comply with BNSF construction requirements for shoring.
See the plans for potential disposal areas for drilled shafts excavation spoils and requirements.
565.07 Reinforcing Steel and Crosshole Sonic Logging (CSL) Access Tubes Placement.
Delete the fifth and sixth paragraphs and substitute the following:
Do not proceed with installation of subsequent shafts until approved in writing by the CO.
Approval to proceed with the construction of subsequent shafts will be based on observations of workmanship during construction of the first shaft and the following:
(a) Contractor's conformance with the approved shaft installation plan;
(b) Contractor's daily reports and inspector's daily logs of excavation, rebar, and concrete placement; and,
(c) Concrete placement logs and volume curves.
The CO will provide a written determination within 24 hours after completion of the first shaft. If the CO determines the first shaft to be of questionable quality, discontinue all shaft construction until the CSL test results of the first shaft are received and reviewed and the shaft is accepted in writing by the CO.
Measurement
565.11 Amend as follows:
Delete the fourth paragraph and substitute the following:
Do not measure concrete, reinforcing steel, permanent casing, or temporary casing.
