About this file

This document provides guidance on contractor travel and COVID-19 restrictions for work at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. It outlines three categories of travel - within the continental US to work inside the controlled industrial area, within the US to work aboard a vessel, and from outside the US - and the screening, monitoring, and restriction of movement requirements for each. It requires temperature checks, social distancing, cleaning/disinfecting of work sites and equipment, use of barriers and administrative controls as needed, establishment of casualty response plans, daily surveillance of compliance, and face coverings on DOD property. Violations will result in warnings, access suspensions, or stop work orders depending on the number and type of infractions. The document aims to provide safety protocols for contractors performing work during the coronavirus pandemic.

The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation for non-SUBSAFE pipe and structural welding, interference removals including cabling and sound damping tile, and blanking of exterior tanks aboard USS Jacksonville at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. The fixed-price contract will be awarded in August 2021 on a lowest price technically acceptable basis under FAR 15.101-2. The period of performance is September 1 to December 20, 2021. Offerors must be registered in SAM and complete electronic representations and certifications.
