About this file

This document is a comprehensive Passenger Screening Program (PSP) Site Survey Report template designed for detailed airport checkpoint deployment documentation. The Excel file contains multiple worksheets covering critical site survey elements including badging requirements, permitting needs, insurance specifications, electrical infrastructure assessment, information technology connectivity, floor and ceiling details, structural and seismic considerations, queue area validation, existing equipment inventory, and duress alarm system documentation.

The site survey template is specifically aligned with the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) Screening Equipment Deployment Services (SEDS) - Checkpoint opportunity, which is anticipated to be solicited in Q1 or Q2 of FY26. The document provides a structured approach for contractors to comprehensively document airport checkpoint characteristics, technical infrastructure, and deployment readiness, with sections designed to capture granular details about electrical systems, IT connectivity, equipment placement, structural considerations, and operational constraints that would be critical for successful checkpoint equipment installation and modification.

Terminal/Checkpoint Floor Material If Tile/Carpet, How Much Spare Stock Does Airport Have and Is It Allowed for Use? Manufacturer, Model Number, Vendor for Replacement Floor Material

Confirm with airport that proposed location will support weight per CRPG guidelines:
Identify whether expansion joints are present in area where TSE will be installed:
Measure the slope of the floor in degrees where the TSE will be placed and record here. Any slope between 0.5 and 2.0 degrees will require OEM installation modification.

Note: TOPM will notify the COR in writing if the checkpoint has a slope in excess of 2.0 degrees.

Is the checkpoint slab-on-grade? If Yes:

Is it acceptable to saw-cut and trench the floor, if necessary?

Confirm with airport authority.

Potential design issue.

Identify ceiling height within checkpoint:

If this is a design issue, address in the Design Issues tab.

Identify any ceiling protrusions (sprinkler heads, monitors, signage, etc.) that may be below the minimum height requirement.

• R&S AIT 8’7’ (103”)

• SES AIT1 9' (108") AIT2 8' (96”)

• Analogic CT 7’7” (91”) Identify the type of ceiling above checkpoint (ceiling finish, drop ceiling tile type, other). Describe it: drop ceiling tile size, finished ceiling, exposed ceiling with conduit, etc.? Provide photos.

If this is a design issue, address in the Design Issues tab.

Is the airport in a seismic zone and confirmed to require seismic anchoring?
Are existing AITs anchored?

Provide photos.

Are existing CTs anchored?

Provide photos.

Architect already in possession of structural record drawings? (i.e. from previous project)
If not, have structural record drawings been requested from the airport and/or AHJ or Local POC?
Is a current soils report available? If no, use default site soil data in ASCE tool for determination. (https://ascehazardtool.org/)
Have structural concerns been observed? (brief description of concern, such as checkpoint has a raised, grid flooring system requiring product/engineering data)
Is the checkpoint Slab on Grade?
Are there utility tunnels?
Is the suspended slab with occupiable spaces below?
Is there a raised floor system installed in the checkpoint?

If so, who is the manufacturer and model (cut sheets available)?

If the floor is a raised floor in the checkpoint, are the WTMD’s and CT’s sitting on concrete pads for support?

Any vibration damping issues?

Do structural concerns require onsite presence of a structural engineer for assessment? (Structural Engineer determination)

Is a separate permit required for structural scope or seismic anchoring? (i.e. Building permit vs. Electrical permit)
What is the length of the permit review cycle?
Does the Building Permit have specific fees and submittal/approval days?
What are the inspection requirements for seismic and/or structural scope? (i.e. CA requires onsite presence of EOR and sign-off confirming work was done to spec and drawings)
Unless slab-on-grade, has a visual inspection been completed of the space below the checkpoint? (Prioritize taking photos of floor below checkpoint)
In the event that thru-bolting is required, is the area accessible?

Provide photos of spaces below the checkpoint.

If visual inspection is needed, are there any anomalies, including conveyors, cable trays, HVAC and plumbing, airport systems, etc.?

Coordinate with the airport to get photos above ceiling where accessible.

Will shut down request(s) be needed for installation of new conduit and cabling?

If so what is the timeline and procedure to schedule and request a shut down?

Are there any or has there been any issues or interference with WTMD ghost alarming due to below floor vibrations and or frequency changes? This is also very important for slab on grade checkpoints.
