About this file

This document is a detailed De-Installation / Installation Checklist for the Smiths Detection 500 DT Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) system, specifically designed for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The comprehensive checklist covers multiple evaluation criteria including inventory verification, unit condition assessment, functionality testing, visual documentation, cleaning procedures, and packaging requirements. The checklist mandates thorough documentation of the ETD system's condition, including taking photographs of the unit from multiple angles, verifying serial numbers and barcodes, and confirming all components are present.

The checklist is associated with the TSA's Screening Equipment Deployment Services (SEDS) - Checkpoint (CP) opportunity, which is currently in a draft stage. The TSA anticipates releasing the full Request for Proposals (RFP) in Q1 or Q2 of FY26 and has made the draft Statement of Work available for industry feedback. The document provides specific technical guidelines for handling, inspecting, and preparing ETD systems for installation or de-installation, with strict protocols for documenting unit condition, cleaning, and packaging to ensure equipment integrity and traceability.
