About this file
The file is a Decommissioning Checklist for the Smiths Responder Bottled Liquid Scanner (BLS), designed to systematically document the condition, functionality, and packaging of screening equipment during removal from service. The comprehensive checklist covers multiple evaluation criteria including inventory verification, system testing, unit condition assessment, cleaning procedures, visual documentation, packaging inspection, and requires signatures from performing personnel, a system integrator, and a federal employee witness.
The checklist is directly related to the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) Screening Equipment Deployment Services (SEDS) - Checkpoint opportunity, which is currently in a draft Statement of Work phase with an anticipated solicitation release in Q1 or Q2 of FY26. The detailed decommissioning process appears to be part of the TSA's systematic approach to managing checkpoint screening equipment lifecycle, ensuring thorough documentation and accountability when removing bottled liquid scanning equipment from operational status.
