About this file
This is an irrigation drawings document prepared by d.d. Pagano, Inc., for Mile Square Regional Park in Fountain Valley, California, supporting a County of Orange procurement for smart irrigation controller replacement. The document contains eight conversion plans (sheets IR-1.01 through IR-1.08) detailing the removal and installation of new WeatherTRAK automatic irrigation controllers to replace ten existing controllers across the park. The project includes replacement of Controllers V, U, T, R/S (consolidated), O/P/Q (consolidated), FH, M/N (consolidated), and AR with new numbered Controllers 1 through 8, respectively. Installation specifications require WeatherTRAK Levels 1-4 certified irrigation managers and include provision and installation of new controllers ranging from 24 to 72 stations depending on location, with all controllers including a ten-year data plan. Valve identification work includes heat-stamping station numbers on electric control valve box lids, providing recycled water identification tags, upgrading valve boxes to specification standards, and creating color-coded controller charts for each installation location.
The drawings specify detailed retrofit procedures for existing electric control valves, including confirmation of locations, installation of new GPH GDBRY6 wire connectors, and adjustment of throttling stems for proper sprinkler head operation within specified pressure ranges. All contractors must obtain WeatherTRAK Controller Inspection Reports (CIR) confirming proper installation per manufacturer specifications and conduct field investigations of existing irrigation systems prior to work commencement, with damage discovered during investigation requiring owner authorization for repair bids and post-evaluation damage becoming contractor responsibility at no cost to the owner. The project includes a 6-inch master valve and flow sensor assembly downstream of the existing backflow preventer for Controller 5, master valve and flow sensor cables installed within 1.5-inch conduit with pull boxes at 200-foot intervals, and HydroPoint Data Systems or approved distributor commissioning services funded by the contractor. All electrical work must comply with applicable electrical codes, with contractors responsible for programming controllers with initial water requirement data based on site conditions until commissioning services are completed.
