About this file

This document constitutes the irrigation drawings attachment for Orange County Community Resources' smart irrigation controller upgrade project at Mile Square Regional Park in Fountain Valley, California. The project involves replacing eight existing automatic irrigation controllers (designated V, U, T, R/S, O/P/Q, FH, M/N, and AR) with new WeatherTRAK Series controllers featuring OptiFlow OXR technology and ten-year data plans. Controller specifications vary by location: Controller 1 is a 36-station SA10-WT3-36-AX retrofit kit in an existing stainless steel enclosure; Controller 2 is a 24-station SA5-WT3-24-AX metered pedestal assembly; Controller 3 is a 24-station SA10-WT3-24-AX retrofit kit; Controller 4 consolidates two existing controllers into a 48-station SA01-WT3-48-AX wall-mounted unit; Controller 5 combines three existing controllers into a 72-station SA01-WT5-72-AX OXR manager; Controller 6 is a 24-station SA01-WT3-24-AX outdoor wall-mount; Controller 7 combines two existing controllers into a 48-station SA01-WT3-48-AX wall-mounted unit; and Controller 8 is a 36-station SA9-WT3-36-AX retrofit kit. The project also includes installation of a new 6-inch master valve and flow sensor assembly downstream of the existing backflow preventer.

The work requires that all installations be performed by WeatherTRAK Levels 1-4 certified irrigation managers, with each controller receiving a WeatherTRAK Controller Inspection Report upon completion. Contractors must investigate existing irrigation system conditions prior to work commencement and report any deficiencies to the owner, with damage discovered after submission of evaluation reports becoming the contractor's responsibility at no additional cost to the County. All electrical work must comply with applicable electrical codes, and the contractor is responsible for obtaining HydroPoint Data Systems commissioning services and associated costs. Existing electric control valves require heat stamping with new station numbers, installation of GPH GDBRY6 wire connectors, and upgrading to standards shown in irrigation details including crushed rock base, clearance provisions, and brick support structures. Control valve boxes must include recycled water identification tags, and contractors must create color-coded controller charts showing valve locations and service areas for applicable controllers.
