Appendix EE Expedient Spall Repair, 5-gal Bucket
1. Introduction. Under the ADR Modernization Program, expedient spall repair in 5-gal buckets is utilized within the spall repair kit. Spall repair material is used to repair pavement damage that is < 5-ft in diameter and does not penetrate into the soil below. Because the pavement damage is relatively small and scattered, the material is packaged in 5-gal buckets to allow mixing in close proximity to the spall.
2. Expedient Spall Repair, 5-gal Buckets.
2.1. The contractor shall verify that the Expedient spall repair material meets specifications in Appendix DD.
2.2. The contractor shall verify that the Expedient spall repair material is packaged in 5-gal buckets with lids. Buckets shall allow for the addition of water and mixing operations inside the bucket using a hand-held mortar mixer.
2.3. Expedient spall repair, 5-gal buckets unit of issue for this IDIQ shall be one (1) pallet of twelve (12) 5-gal buckets.
2.4. Buckets shall be secured to the pallet with poly strapping (plastic banding straps).
