About this file
This document is a Data Requirements Description (DRD) for a Safety and Occupational Health and Environmental Plan (SHEMP) related to NASA's Western Regional Multiple Award Construction Contracts (WRMACC). The DRD outlines comprehensive requirements for contractors to develop and maintain a detailed safety and health plan that ensures the safety of employees, the public, NASA personnel, and property throughout the contract's duration.
The plan must address contract management, organizational responsibilities, safety policies and procedures, periodic safety checks and audits, accident prevention methods, and risk mitigation strategies. Contractors are required to submit the initial SHEMP within 30 days of contract award in Microsoft Office-compatible electronic format, with subsequent submissions sent via email to the Contracting Officer and Contracting Officer's Representative. The government reserves the right to disapprove the plan if it fails to comply with federal, NASA, Air Force Base, state, and local occupational safety standards or exhibits significant safety risks.
