Provide hardwood plank flooring per SF103 and AE105.
102 3/24/22 3/28/22 Question #: 2 Sheet: AE101. SF501 Spec: 06 10 00 Topic: Decking Question: There are conflicting notes and details regarding the new decking material. There are notes calling for “composite decking” (4/SF501) and others that call for 2X wood decking. Sheet AE101 KN 6 calls for 1-1/2’’ thick painted treated wood decking, and Detail 5/AE101 also shows this to be face nailed. Please confirm.
New decking material is to be 1 ½” painted treated wood decking as called out on Plan Note 6 on AE101. Decking on new ramp to be composite decking.
103 3/24/22 3/28/22 Question #: 3 Sheet: SF502, SF102 Spec: N/A Topic: Rim Boards Question: Detail 5/SF502 shows 2x10 rim boards, while Detail 3/SF102 shows 2x12. Which is correct?

CONTRACTOR QUESTIONS VA RESPONSES TO QUESTIONS
105 3/24/22 3/28/22 Question #: 5 Sheet: AE321 Spec: N/A Topic: Deck Joist Flashing Tape Question: Sheet AE321 refers to the new ramp and calls for 3M Deck Joist Flashing Tape. Is this tape required at the new deck framing as well?
Deck joist flashing is required at new deck and ramp framing.
106 3/24/22 3/28/22 Question #: 6 Sheet: N/A Spec: N/A Topic: New Ramp Structural Drawings Question: Other than the 4x4 posts, there are no structural drawings for the new ramp. In order to provide accurate pricing, details of rim joist, beams, joist size, and spacing are needed.
Match porch and assume 2x12 rim joists and 2x12 joists @ 16” for pricing.
107 3/24/22 3/28/22 Question #: 7 Sheet: SF103 Spec:
Topic: 3rd Floor – Building 20 New Joist Question: At Column lines B, C, and E, do the joist bear on a beam? Or are they hung from the beam face with hangers?
At Band E, joists bear on a beam and attach to rim boards. At C, it is assumed joists attach to ledger on existing masonry wall.
108 3/24/22 3/28/22 Question #: 8 Sheet: SF103 Spec: N/A Topic: 3rd Floor – Building 20 New Joist Question: How are the joists attached at the building, stairs, and elevators? Typically, codes do not allow attachment of structural elements to elevator or stair shafts for bearing or support
Field conditions should be verified in field, but assume joists bear on brick bearing wall along grid C at north end of shaft locations. It is assumed that on south ends of shafts, joists do bear on ledgers at these locations.
Assume these conditions. A/E is not familiar with code provisions that would prevent this condition.
109 3/24/22 3/28/22 Question #: 9 Sheet: SF103, AE105 Spec: N/A Topic: Floorboards Question: Detail 4/SF103 shows 5/8’’ plywood decking at 3rd floor building 20. AE105 KN 1 calls for “new 2x hardwood floorboards – refer to structural.” Which is correct? If hardwood, what species, grade, size, profile?
No. 5/8” plywood decking as answered previously. Intent is that the new floorboards match existing thickness.
Assume typical ¾” hardwood flooring for bidding.
