About this file
This document contains technical questions and responses related to solicitation number 36C77622B0017 for the Milwaukee EHRM Training and Admin Space Support Construction Project. The questions and answers cover various mechanical and control aspects of the project, including clarifying that certain VAVs listed in the schedule are actually hot water coils, confirming that freeze stats are required for each AHU to match the existing station standard, and specifying that individual supply air temperature sensors are not required at each VAV as the sensor at the main AHU can be used globally. Additional questions and responses address slab thickness assumptions, saw cutting details for in-slab piping removal and replacement, and a request for an updated DDC points list, which is provided on sheet MM700 of the drawings.

36 2/28/22 3/22/22 VAVs C106-C thru C124-A are listed on the VAV schedule but not shown on the plans. Associated thermostat locations reference hot water coils and not VAVs. Are VAVs 106-C, C118, C118-A, C118-B, C124, and C124-A required? If yes, please identify locations on the plans.
It appears that they might have been scheduled as VAVs and not HWCs. These VAVs are not required as they are covered in the HWC schedule. Please see Sheet MM600, Mechanical Schedules attached.
37 2/28/22 3/22/22 Specification 23 09 23 Low temperature protection devices (freeze stats) are not shown on the AHU Schematic. Are freeze stats required?
Freeze stats are required for each AHU. This shall match the existing Station standard with the existing BAS. Please see Sheet MM700, Mechanical Control Systems.
38 2/28/22 3/22/22 Specification section 23 09 23 - The VAV schematic shows a SA-T before the VAV box. Supply temperature is measured at each AHU. Can this point be used globally as the supply air temperature to each VAV box, or are individual supply air temperature sensors required at every VAV?
The SA-T sensor at the main AHU is only required, and not at each VAV. This shall match the existing Station standard with the existing BMS.
43 2/28/22 3/22/22 Can a DDC points list/schedule be provided? The updated AHU Points list on sheet MM700, Mechanical Control Systems.
77 2/28/22 3/22/22 Question #: 33 Sheet: N/A Spec: N/A Topic: Slab thickness Question: Please provide a floor slab thickness to be assumed for all floor slabs within the work area of this project.
Do not assume existing slab thickness. Field Verify.
Assume 8” nominally for bidding purposes, but it will vary throughout
90 2/28/22 3/22/22 Question #: 46 Sheet: N/A Spec: N/A Topic: Saw Cutting Question: Please provide a detail showing areas of floor slab to be saw cut for new removal and replacement of in-slab piping.
See plumbing drawings for locations of in slab piping.
Most of the new plumbing in C-Wing North Basement will be in new infill. See plan note 24 on AE100.
