About this file
This document contains a site analysis report and a federal contract opportunity notice. The site analysis report evaluates bathroom upgrades needed at the Hampton VA Medical Center in buildings including rooms 4, 7, 105B, and 105C. Some rooms can be made accessible with minor modifications while others require more substantial changes that may violate building codes. Bathrooms unable to meet accessibility standards will only receive new finishes and fixtures.
The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation to provide all labor, materials, and services for bathroom upgrades at the Hampton VA campus. Estimated value is $2-5 million. The project scope involves architectural, interior finishes, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work. The solicitation is a total service-disabled veteran-owned small business set aside. Interested vendors must register on the website to receive amendments and notices. Current System for Award Management and Vendor Information Pages registration is required to be eligible for award. Questions must be emailed by a specified date.

BUILDING 36 SUMMARY
ROOM 04
Existing plan can be made accessible if the door can shift to allow for clear floor space.
ROOM 07
Existing plan can not be made accessible. The proposed fixture layout is compliant but the door approach does not have the required maneuvering clearance.
ROOM 105B + 105C
Existing plan can not be made accessible. The fixture count would need to be decreased in order to bring it closer to being ADA compliant but that would offset the building code.
AS DIRECTED BY THE VA, BATHROOMS THAT CANNOT MEET
ACCESSIBILITY REQUIREMENTS, WILL ONLY RECEIVE NEW
FINISHES AND FIXTURES
