About this file
This document is a Door Hardware specification for the Construct Consolidated Boiler Spaces project at the Loch Raven VA Medical Center. The specification covers detailed requirements for door hardware, including continuous hinges, door closers, locks, exit devices, electromagnetic locks, thresholds, and various accessories. Nine specific hardware sets are defined for different door types across multiple rooms (such as exterior panic doors, rated doors, toilet rooms, and storage areas), with each set listing precise hardware components from manufacturers like SARGENT, McKinney, Rockwood, and Pemko.
The specification provides extensive technical details on hardware installation, including precise mounting heights, hinge requirements, finish specifications, and compliance standards such as ANSI/BHMA, NFPA, and ADA. Notably, the document includes a requirement for all hardware to comply with the Architectural Barriers Act Accessibility Standard and mandates specific warranty periods for different hardware components. Each hardware set includes a caveat about potential waivers required to comply with the Buy American Act, indicating the project's federal nature and procurement constraints.
