Justification Upgrades to AC Plant include three new chillers and associated cooling towers which generate additional heat than previous equipment. New equipment is controlled by variable frequency drive cabinets that also generate substantial heat and need to be cooled. Existing ventilation was not sufficient, and new equipment began to shut down during peak summer loads. Electrical switchgear is needed to provide minimum cooling to Main Hospital for patient care.
