About this file
This document comprises the final construction documents structural plans for Phase 1B of the Immokalee Sports Complex project in Collier County, Florida, prepared by Stantec Consulting Services Inc. for Collier County Board of County Commissioners, Parks and Recreation. The project, located at 505 Escambia Street in Immokalee, includes construction of a field restroom pavilion and sports complex facilities. The structural plans detail Phase 1B construction requirements including concrete foundations with an allowable soil bearing capacity of 2,500 psf, concrete columns (16" x 16"), concrete slabs on grade (4" to 8" thick with reinforcement specifications), masonry walls constructed with 50% solid 8x8x16 concrete masonry units, tie beams and tie columns, wood roof trusses, and exposed timber framing for the pavilion structure. Design specifications comply with the Florida Building Code 2023 Edition and ASCE 7-22 for wind loads with an ultimate design wind speed of 151 mph. Flood design incorporates FEMA Zone AH with a design flood elevation of +35.5' NAVD. The contractor is responsible for all shop drawing submittals, which must be submitted twenty working days prior to construction, with the Structural Engineer of Record providing review within ten working days.
The structural design establishes concrete strength requirements ranging from 3,500 psi for footings and slabs on grade to 5,000 psi for beams and structural slabs, with reinforcing steel specified as ASTM A-615 Grade 60. All wood structural framing shall be No. 1 Pressure Treated Southern Yellow Pine in compliance with the National Design Specification for Wood Construction. The project incorporates shallow foundations based on geotechnical investigation report #22-306 by Velocity Engineering Services dated October 21, 2022, with specific requirements for subgrade preparation, fill placement, and compaction monitored by a licensed soil engineer. Construction joint locations, concrete testing protocols, and reinforcement placement requirements are detailed throughout the specifications. Deferred submittals for specialized structural components, including pre-engineered roof trusses, glulam beams, exterior doors, rooftop mechanical equipment, railings, and exterior cladding, must be prepared by a Delegated Engineer licensed in Florida and submitted for building official approval prior to installation.
