EVAPCO Submittal Package Summary
This is an EVAPCO submittal package for a cooling tower unit delivered on October 13, 1999. The package documents a factory-assembled, induced draft, counterflow cooling tower (Model 1 AT 424-936) with EVAPCO Serial Number 997139M, manufactured for American Combustion, Inc. by engineer Washington Gas Energy Systems, Inc. The submittal includes unit certified drawings, thermal performance guarantee, recommended steel support drawings, and mechanical specifications. Accessory information is provided for selected included components: Electric Water Level Control, Vibration Cut-Out Switch, External Service Platform, and Hot Water/Steam Coil General Arrangement.
The mechanical specifications detail construction of Type 304 stainless steel casing and pan with stainless steel channel and angle supports, brass make-up float valve with adjustable plastic float, and all-stainless-steel pan strainer with removable perforated screens. The cooling tower features axial propeller fan constructed of aluminum alloy and statically balanced, installed in closely fitted cowl with vertical inlet. Fan shaft is solid steel, ground and polished with rust preventative coating. Bearings are heavy-duty, self-aligning ball type designed for minimum L-10 life of 75,000 hours. The fan motor is totally enclosed, ball bearing electric motor suitable for moist air service with 1.15 service factor design. Fill consists of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) cross-fluted design bonded for strength and durability. Water distribution systems utilize precision-molded ABS spray nozzles with large orifices to eliminate clogging. Eliminators and louvers are constructed of PVC in easily handled sections. EVAPCO provides a five-year total product warranty covering all defects in materials and workmanship, including structural components, fill supports, drift eliminators, louvers and fan discharge screen, with motor and drive system covered by comprehensive five-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Thermal performance is warranted for one year from installation completion in accordance with good engineering practices, not to exceed eighteen months from shipment date.
