About this file
This document contains questions and answers regarding solicitation number 12445523R0018 to construct a Cadillac-Manistee Fire Operations Center. The solicitation will result in a single-award firm fixed-price contract awarded by the Department of Agriculture Forest Service. A pre-bid walkthrough is scheduled according to section L provision 452.237-71. Fiber-cement siding requirements are now under section 74623 rather than the removed section 074646. Section 013000 is also removed with administrative submittal requirements now under section 013300. Funding is expected to be in place prior to award, though a slight delay is possible which would push the performance end date later than the planned August 1, 2023 start date.

Questions and Answers As of 6/9/2023
Q1. Is there a pre bid walk through date and time planned?
A1. See section L provision 452.237-71 regarding Pre-Proposal Conference
Q2. I’m having some trouble finding the following sections:
013000 Administrative Requirements, For Submittal Procedures
074646 FIBER-CEMENT SIDING
A2. Amending the TOC only.
Section 74646 FIBER-CEMENT SIDING is no longer needed and siding requirements are under 74623 Engineered Wood Siding. Section 013000 is not needed and all admin requirements for submittals are covered in 013300 – Submittal Procedures.
If there is a specific admin requirement for submittals that the contractor cannot find in 13300 and has concerns about, please have them submit more details.
Q3. We also saw in the paperwork that funding was possibly still in question despite a start date of August 1. Could you please elaborate on the status of funding so we can assess what resources to put toward reviewing this project?
A3. We anticipate funding being in place prior to when we need to award this by. We do not anticipate cancelling the solicitation, the most we expect would happen would be a slight delay in award, most likely pushing the performance end date back further. I believe we would use this option before we ever contemplated cancelling.
