RFIs:

Questions that may be of general interest to all Offerors and/or the Government and that are not readily answered by the proceeding changes will appear below. These questions may have been paraphrased or altered to represent several questions regarding the same subject and/or simply revised to clarify and simplify the question(s). Questions and answers are issued to the Offerors “for information only” and do not revise the solicitation, plans or specifications.

1. Q. Level B3: Detail #6 on AD101 refers to SD101 for slab demolition. In mechanical room B301, there’s a portion marked on SD101, but not on AD101. Is this getting removed?

A. Yes, this slab area would be removed as noted in the structural drawings

2. Q. On AD102 in mechanical room B218, will the upper and lower walls be removed as well? Detail #1 in this room only points to the wall along the corridor. (LEVEL B2).

A. This Keynote applies to all interior faces of the exterior wall. It applies to the entire wall.

3. Q. Detail #16 on AD102/B205 calls out ceramic tile removal, is there tiling to be removed in B204/206 as well (B204/206 are similar type rooms).

A. Yes - ceramic tile is to be removed in these rooms as well

4. Q. Detail #18 on AD102 calls out removal of GWB furred partition/interior window trim, is there a specific location for this scope? (Most partition removals are annotated).

A. This Keynote applies to all interior faces of the exterior wall. It applies to the entire wall.

5. Q. Detail #1 on AD103 calls out various partition walls for removal. We need clarification if all partition walls are getting removed or only those pointed to.

A. Dashed line means delete. If the wall is dashed it is intended to be removed. Walls shown in images are continuous with the demolition keynote, not separate partitions. Dashed line represents extent of demolition.

6. Q. Detail #6 on AD103 calls for the removal of masonry wall areas along corridor B100B. All areas are clear except for the wall along room B122. Is this entire wall getting demolished or a section of it?

A. Leader line from demolition note 6 to the corridor wall along B122 is misplaced. Contractor is to coordinate demolition with the new work planned along room B122. If new work does not require demolition of wall section, then no demolition is required along that wall.

7. Q. Detail #7 on AD103 calls for the removal of trim and windows (plural), but the drawing only points to one window. Are there other windows to be removed?

A. Note 7 and Note 15 on AD103 refer to all windows on the sheet.

8. Q. Detail #8 on AD103 calls for the removal of suspended acoustical tiles, grids and hangers and the note refers to the electrical drawing (ED103) for details on this removal. However, the area marked for removal on ED103 does not appear to be consistent with the removal on AD103.

A. Ceiling is to be demolished to structure above in the West side of the South Wing (B101, B102, B103, and B104) and the South side of the North Wing (B114, B115, B116, and B117.). There are no acoustic ceiling tiles in the central stair hallway. Refer to KN20 and General Note 12, AD103.

9. Q. On AD104, Keynote #1 calls for the demolition of several GWB partition walls. Some walls are not marked for demolition but have markings that label them for demolition. Are the walls between Rooms 100/101 and 113/114 getting demolished? Is that partition GWB or CMU? (The markings seem consistent with the masonry area wall demo).

A. The walls between Rooms 100/101 and 113/114 are getting demolished. The partition is GWB.

10. Q. On AD104, Keynote #2 calls for the demolition of furred partitions on the interior side of the “entire exterior wall”. Will the North side of Room 106 require demolition of furred partitions as well? (Not marked on the N wall of Room 106) A. Yes. The entire exterior wall notes include the North side of room 106.

11. Q. On AD104, Keynote #6 calls for the demolition of masonry area walls for the installation of new door/window openings. Will the highlighted sections of the wall, which appear to be marked for demolition, be removed as well?

A. Dashed lines indicate demolition, whether a key note points to the element or not.

12. Q. AD104/Keynote #6: How much of the wall (below) is to be demolished?

A. Per KN 6, AD104, coordinate extent of demolition with new work shown on A-104, and D1/A-322.

13. Q. AD104/Keynote #9: Are the fixtures in Room 113 getting removed? They are identified on PD104 for removal, but not on AD104.

A. AD104 shows these items with dashed line type, indicating they are to be removed. The dashed line is the indication for removal

14. Q. AD104/Keynote #14 calls for the removal of a folding panel partition, associated fixed partition and structural supports. Where is the folding panel on this drawing?

A. The folding panel partition is located on Sheet AD103. Keynote 14 on AD104 is incorrect, and will be deleted in the conformed set.

15. Q. On AD105, Keynote #1 calls for the demolition of several GWB partition walls. Some walls are not marked for demolition but have markings that label them for demolition. Is the wall between Rooms 200/201 getting demolished?

A. Dashed lines indicate demolition, whether a key note points to the element or not.

16. Q. AD105/Keynote#2: The note says to remove furred partitions on entire exterior wall. Is this around all exterior walls on this floor or only those pointed to?

A. This is all exterior walls, except for the portion of the exterior wall within the stairwells. Inside the stairwells are not to be modified

17. Q. Detail 5/A-620 shows “A09 - Sliding window at Reception” but neither the floor plans nor the interior plans show where in the reception room is the window located. Please verify the location of this window.

A. Please see A-103, the A09 window type is between Corridor B120 and B1100A.

18. Q. D3/A-429 show the cabinetry for the Briefing Room (150), on A-562 Notes regarding the Briefing Room millwork it calls for WD-1 finish for the cabinets. The only WD-1 on I-601 is for the Wood Doors. Div.

081400 calls for White Oak or to match existing. Please verify wood species for casework.

A. White Oak is the intended wood species; PT-12 is the intended finish. Cut is to be FLAT SAWN.

Revised drawings are issued with this amendment; WD-1 on A-429 and A-562 is supposed to be WDT-1.

19. Q. Drawing I-502 has wood trim profiles. Are B5 & C5 the trims shown on A-413 through A-415? Is the Crown (C5/I-502) located at the Columns? Do these trims appear anywhere else? Please clarify.

A. KN 14 on A-413 through A-415 should reference B5 and C5 on I-502. Crown is located at columns.

Crown is exclusively in the central stair area; base also appears in briefing room (150).

20. Q. Clin 0009 option 3: WAP calls for C squared to furnish and install the AP system. Typically, APs GFGI and the cabling is held within the telecom cabling bid. Please confirm this is a typo, and that APs will not be furnished in this bid.

A. CLIN 0009 includes removal and installation of existing WAPs, cabling, patch panels, outlet jacks, faceplates, testing, and labeling associated with the WAP system. See revised price schedule. C -Squared is not a sole source provider for WAP. Only DAS.

21. Q. Clin 0007: Security specifically excludes access control. Please advise what CLIN we should price access control under.

A. CLIN 0007 includes electronics, cabling and testing associated with the Cadet Store Intrusion Detection System. All other access control should be included in CLIN 0001AA.

22. Q. Clin 0001AA calls for all “Infrastructure” to be in this CLIN. Please advise if all racks and cabinets needed for the project will be under CLIN 0001AA, or under CLIN 0011.

A. CLIN includes racks, cabinets, cabling, patch panels, outlet jacks, faceplates, testing and labeling.

CLIN will not include racks, cabinets, vertical and horizontal wire manager that will be part of CLIN 0001AA.

23. Q. Please clarify splice detail B1/S502: Note states the 14” wide ¾” plate is to be 2’-11” long, weld note:

5/16 – 33 typ. Each side T&B weld, drawing dimensions splice plate to be 5’-6”.

Please confirm: How long are the top and bottom 14” flange plates supposed to be?

How much weld is required?

A. "The flange plates are to be 5’-6” in long, 14” wide and ¾” thick. The weld required is 33” of each side of the plate, on either side of the gap, and on the top and bottom. The weld symbol correctly portrays this information. Flange splice plate should not be 2'-11"", it should be 5'-6".

24. Q. Drawing A101 Note 7 calls out for Pre-Cast Panel Infills but when you go to the details (D2/A513) the detail shows CMU walls with Cast Stone Veneers. Which are we to use? Precast Panels or CMU.

A. Please follow what is shown in the detail - CMU back-up wall with Cast Stone veneer. A-101 Note 7 should be revised to say "CMU infill" instead of "Precast Panel Infill"

25. Q. Transition strip details on I-501 show Terrazzo as both 1/4" and 1/2" thicknesses. The finish schedule calls out for 3/8" terrazzo throughout. Confirm all terrazzo 3/8" thickness.

A. Confirmed. All Terrazzo is 3/8" thickness.

26. Q. I-603 - Interior Room Finish Schedule calls for WF-1 at the West wall of Room 110 - Reception, but the wall type shows 0A. Interior rooms 111, 112, and 113 adjacent to Room 110 also call out N/A at this wall.

Confirm if this wall is GWB Partition or should be a Glazed Aluminum Partition.

A. West wall of Reception should be WC-1, not WF-1. 0A is the correct partition type. Finish on east wall of 111, 112, and 113 is PT-1.

27. Q. I-603 - Interior Room Finish Schedule calls for N/A at the North wall of Room 236 Office. Confirm if this wall should receive PT-1.

A. The North Wall of Office 236 is to be finished with PT-1.

28. Q. Confirm that the walls adjacent to Room B220 - Client Services Open Office are Gyp Wall Partitions or if they should be Glazed Aluminum Partitions. I-602 - Interior Room Finish Schedule calls for N/A at these locations (Room B225 & 226 North walls, B224 &223 East walls, B222&221 South walls); advise on what finish to include in these locations.

A. These should be OA Wall type (GWB) partitions. Walls should be painted PT-1.

29. Q. Glazing Specification: The following glazing types do not provide a glazing thickness/make-up:

-GL-11

-GL-13

-GL-14 (also, where is this required?)

A. "GL-11 – tempered glass used at interior aluminum stile and rail doors as specified in 08 11 16 – would be ¼” thickness as specified in 08 81 00 in paragraph 2.2.5.; -GL-13 – thickness is noted in the drawings in details on A-542 and A-543 – Keynote #1; - GL-14 is noted for System 4 - Interior Frameless Glass Wall System specified in 08 41 13. Except System 4 in 08 41 13 references GL-13 and GL-15 that is incorrect – it should be GL-14. GL-14 thickness to be 1/2” or as directed by manufacturer"

30. Q. Window Schedule in sheet A-615 calls out for windows #W24 or W38; please clarify if these window types are used.

A. "W38 is used – There are two of them located at the B3 level in Elevation B1/A-202. It is currently shown as W39. W24 is used – it is located at Level 3 in the center of the stair tower – Elevation B4/A-204 and is currently shown as a W23. "

31. Q. Exterior Elevation B4/A-204: there are (3) small windows located at Level 1 that are labeled at “W18” however W18 as shown on sheet A-615 is larger than the three windows shown and has an arch top as that shown in the same elevation at Level 2; should these (3) small windows be type W20? Please clarify windows type.

A. Yes, the three small windows in the window well should be W20 in lieu of W18 – however the size of window is required to be VIF.

32. Q.
