About this file
This document is a modification to a solicitation for maintenance dredging services. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District is seeking to dredge approximately 600,000 cubic yards of material from the Main and Port Newark Channels of Newark Bay, New Jersey to depths of -40 and -50 feet below Mean Lower Low Water plus one foot allowable overdepth. The dredged material consists primarily of silt and clay and must be transported to a contractor-provided upland placement site permitted by the state. A mechanical dredge with closed clamshell bucket must be used due to state water quality restrictions. Multiple tugboats and barges are required to perform dredging, dewatering, and unloading operations. The response deadline is extended from June 24th to June 30th, 2022 at 2:00 PM EST. The bid opening will occur on June 30th. The estimated value of the work ranges from $25-100 million and must be completed between August 2022 and March 2023 while maintaining a production rate of at least 2,500 cubic yards per day.
