About this file
This solicitation package outlines requirements for a maintenance dredging project. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks a contractor to dredge approximately 600,000 cubic yards of sediment from the Main and Port Newark Channels of Newark Bay in New Jersey to authorized depths between -40 and -50 feet MLLW plus one foot allowable overdepth using a mechanical dredge with a closed clamshell environmental bucket. The contractor must furnish upland placement sites for dewatering and disposal of dredged materials which are expected to consist primarily of silt and clay. Multiple barges and tugboats will also be needed to transport materials. The contractor must obtain and provide all necessary permits for dredging, transportation, dewatering, and final placement activities. Work is required to commence within five days of notice to proceed and maintain an integrated production rate of at least 2,500 cubic yards per day to minimize impacts to vessel traffic. The performance period is anticipated to be between August 2022 and March 2023. The estimated value of the contract is between $25-100 million. Bids for this unrestricted solicitation are due on [DATE].
