The documents shown in the attached list have been reviewed in accordance with the applicable requirements of the following:
• ABS Rules for Building and Classing Steel Barges, 2023
• 46 CFR Subchapter S (170.170, 174.015)
• USACE Modified Single Compartment Damage Requirements
• 46 CFR Part 45 – 1973 Great Lakes Load Lines
Please note our review is based on the following conditions:
1. Our review is preliminary and the submitted calculations were based on estimated lightship values. Upon completion of the vessel, a stability test shall be performed to establish the final lightship values.
2. The review was performed as an approval in principle for the submitted data only and should not be misconstrued as being performed on behalf of the administration.
3. ABS is not responsible for the operation of the vessel. It is the Owner’s responsibility to provide training, supervision, and guidance to ensure that the vessel is operated within the limits of Classifications and applicable Regulations.
