GENERAL

A. GUIDING REFERENCES

This document describes the requirements of each submittal for the main project, accelerated phases, swing spaces and temporary phasing facilities. Submittals shall be submitted in accordance with the Design-Build (DB) PWS and UFC 4-510-01, Design: Medical Military Facilities and this document. Submittals typically include narratives, drawings, specifications, cut sheets, schedules, and color boards/binders. Examples of select submittals are included in the attached. The following references were used to establish DB submittal requirements:

• Submittal 1 requirements align with UFC 4-510-01, Design: Medical Military Facilities.

• Submittal 2 and 3 requirements are derived from excerpts of the USACE Design-Build Medical Design

Instructions and AIA Best Practices.

• PFE‐LVS, Preconstruction and Closeout Submittals are derived from best practices and select requirements of the Unified Facilities Guide Specifications.

• Reference Design-Build (DB) PWS, Attachment F, UFGS General Requirements, for additional instructions on the

Submittal Register, Schedule, Preconstruction and Construction Submittals.

• Provide information within the timetables outlined in the PWS, Table 1, Submission and Review Periods.

B. POWER (for), FURNISHINGS, EQUIPMENT & LOW VOLTAGE SYSTEMS (PFE‐LVS)

The term PFE‐LVS is widely used in this document as an umbrella term covering JSN/PRCR identified systems and products required to be furnished as part of the contract. It also includes infrastructure work to accommodate moved systems or system expansions required as part of transition, move only areas, or realignment of departments and offices. PFE‐LVS will not be classified by LOGCAT designation in this project. Refer to the PRCR and JSN Listings in Attachment D – Power (for), Furnishings, Equipment & Low Voltage Systems (PFE-LVS) for products/systems and estimated quantities.

C. TRANSITION & MOVE ONLY

In accordance with the Design-Build (DB) PWS, the Contractor is responsible for all necessary transition planning and execution related to required moves for phasing, move‐only, and realignment. It includes work necessary for temporary facilities to accommodate transition and phasing (TPFs). It includes necessary planning, coordination, and execution to relocate and set up of existing PFE‐LVS, new PRCR products, relocating and expanding systems and testing and certification/recertification. It also includes removal, proper storage and disposal of material and equipment resulting from demolition as provided for in the DB PWS. Refer to Attachment A – Project Objectives for project‐ specific requirements for Temporary Phasing Facilities, as well as for Temporary Construction Facilities.
