C.3.2 Documented Processes and Information for ECPs, RFVs and VECPs:

C.3.2.1 ERR, ECP, and VECP Number Assignment: The Contractor shall request a block of ECP or VECP numbers from the PdM MTV

Configuration Management (CM) Functional Technical Representative (FTR) and prepare them in accordance with section C.3.2.2. These numbers shall be used on an individual basis as a control identifier for the change packages. Once a number is assigned to the first submission of a change package, that number shall be retained for all subsequent submissions of that change package. Once an ECP or VECP is Configuration Control Board (CCB) approved, it cannot be changed, supplemented, or revised. A new ECP shall be developed and delivered to correct, change, or amend an existing approved ECP or VECP. When an ECP or VECP requires change or revision prior to approval, the changed or revised proposal shall be identified by adding the identifier "R#", where R# is the number of the revision.

These identifiers shall become a permanent part of the ECP number. The complete ECP number including change and revisions identifiers shall not exceed 15 characters. The same number assigned to an ECP or VECP shall be used for the applicable ERR without the R# identifier, where the # is the number of revision(s), if one was assigned.
