F-35 Add/Alter B404 Q&A 3
Q9. Your Q&A #2 stated bid bond must be original, please explain the process & timing on delivery of original?
When looking into this question I realized that the requirement for an original bid bond has been changed: “to respond to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) national emergency, contracting officers shall utilize the deviations from the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) authorized in attachments 1 and 2, respectively, to provide flexibility with regard to original documents, manual signatures, seals, and notarization in order to facilitate certain essential contracting procedures.” Therefore, due to Class Deviation 2020-O0016, the original bid bond is NOT REQUIRED. I apologize for the confusion.
