Item No. 8: Refer to drawing sheet P2.1. Add the following general note to this sheet:
Note: If Bid Option No. 6 is awarded, under-slab, gravity draining sanitary sewer systems shall be installed within the porous backfill layer, above the subgrade elevations indicated on C6.1A, and shall be below structural grade beams so as not to penetrate structural grade beams. Contractor shall coordinate depths and routing of underslab sanitary sewer piping
ADDENDUM NO. 2 Page 3 of 7 Seay Seay & Litchfield, P.C. 25 May 2023 with all affected trades. It is anticipated that the high point of the underground sanitary sewer system will be located at fixture P-9 in room 107 with an approximate invert elevation of 199.99. With the required slope across the system, a discharge elevation of approximately 198.53 is expected where the below grade sanitary sewer system exits the facility footprint in room 102.
Clarification Regarding Items 5-8:
This addendum adds Bid Option No. 6: Alternate Foundation Design. The intent of this addendum is for the Contractor to price, as part of the base bid, ground supported floor slabs over integrally bonded vapor barrier (see items 1-4 of this addendum) bearing on an engineered filled pad as indicated on the original project drawings and the original project geotechnical recommendations from Carmichael Engineering dated 31 March 2021. Bid Option No. 6 should be the additional cost (cost premium after deducting the cost of the base bid engineered filled pad and ground supported floor slab assembly) for the following:
- Installation of structural floor slab systems spanning between, and supported upon, grade beams bearing on a grid of drilled piers as indicated in the revised structural sheets added by item #5 of this addendum and as described in the 12 December 2022 letter from Carmichael Engineering referenced in Item No. 7 of this addendum.
- Revised extent and depths of building undercut and foundation drainage systems indicated on C6.1A.

The demolition of these utilities has been moved to a different project which is expected to start in the near future. The exact timeline for demolition of these utilities is not known at the time of this addendum. The Contractor will be required to coordinate with Government and Contractor of the adjacent project to coordinate demolition of these items in the sequence that allows both projects to progress simultaneously.
- Add note regarding the presence of copper and steel electrodes abandoned in place on the project site and Contractor’s responsibility regarding demolition of the abandoned electrodes.
- Add note regarding the presence of gravel backfill on the site and the Contractor’s responsibility regarding removal/relocation of the gravel.
