| 3 DESCRIPTIONPURPOSE: 3.1 The TB and Training Materials describes the use and operation of the TB covering the solution. It will be used by the Government to provide training to the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) operators and verify the personnel requirements associated with the solution and its systems / equipment. |

| 7 APPLICATIONINTERRELATIONSHIP: 7.1 This Data Item Description (DID) is applicable to contracts when the Government requires a solution TB and evaluation of the training requirements to successfully operate and maintain the solution (including its systems and equipment). |
7.2 This DID may be applied to programs or projects during Material Solution Analysis (MSA), Technology Maturation & Risk Reduction (TMRR), Engineering & Manufacturing Development (EMD), Production & Deployment (P&D), and Operations & Support (O&S) phases of the Defense Acquisition Life Cycle.

| 10 PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS: 10.1 Format: The TB and materials must be in the Contractor's design unless otherwise specified on the Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL / DD Form 1423). Unless stated otherwise on the CDRL, the deliverable to the Government must be provided in digital format and viewable using the latest version of Microsoft Office or Adobe software products as applicable. |
10.2 Training Baseline Content: The TB must include a table of contents; page numbering; background information on the solution (including its system(s), subsystem(s), components, equipment, etc); the capabilities provided by the solution; known solution limitations; intended operating conditions of the solution; known training or certification requirements for personnel to successfully operate the solution; and complete narrative, graphs, mathematical curves, analysis, table(s), drawings, and empirical data required to verify sustainment requirements associated with the solution.
10.3 Training Materials Content: The materials must include a table of contents, page numbering, and sufficient written and visual instructions to guide users through the mannerisms to operate, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, adjust / recalibrate, and perform operational level repair on the solution. The documentation may be supplemented by the Contractor's Commercial Manual (DID # DI-LMIS-0004), but interrelations between the documents must clearly be stated in writing to the Government.
10.4 Revisions: Unless otherwise indicated by revision and date, the TB and materials submitted by the Contractor to the Government as cited within this DID will be considered the most up to date iteration. Revisions to the TB and materials must be provided by the Contractor with an accompanying summary that clearly identifies to the Government all changes at the time of submission.
