About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for RFR's project 554-26-105 to Replace Damaged Windows at RMRVAMC (Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center). The Q&A addresses multiple project-specific inquiries, including logistics and operational details such as equipment usage, work hours, and site access. Key clarifications include: boom lifts are permitted inside the building with floor protection, the project superintendent can serve as QC Manager and SSHO, existing door hardware may be reused, and construction debris removal is the contractor's responsibility. Additional notes cover Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) requirements, which will range from Level 2 to Level 3 depending on the work area, and specify that window replacements will involve coordination with CU Anschutz Facilities/Traffic team for lane closures. The project is tax exempt, and parking for active work and material staging can be coordinated in specific designated areas like the loading dock, PVS/PVN decks, or ED parking lot.

RFR’s project 554-26-105 Replace Damaged Windows at RMRVAMC.
*** Note – SOW Appendix A-rev 1 included, replacing original document.
• Will we be able to get a boom lift inside the building to access the windows? Lifts are allowed inside the building, however, existing entryways must be utilized without modification, and a plan for protection of floors/finishes/fixtures must be approved to ensure they are protected/undamaged.
• Can the project superintendent be the QC Manager and SSHO on this project? Yes
• What are the work hours for this project? Note/Info added to Appendix A as Column D indicating work hours and which windows require after-hours work.
• Can we use the VA’s existing scaffolding and hoists to help install the windows? Are all these hoists certified, or will we have to certify these before we use them? The Davit/Boom-arm system may be utilized, however they have not been recently inspected or certified. Therefore they require inspection & certification by qualified personnel.
• Do we need to provide any door hardware for this project? Existing door hardware may be reused if feasible, otherwise in-kind hardware is to be included.
• Will we be able to dispose of glass in the VA’s dumpsters or will we have to haul off site?
Construction debris removal, including window panes, is the responsibility of the contractor.
• It was discussed on the site walk there are two additional windows that need to be included can the VA provide details so we can price. Window #s 25 & 26 added to Appendix A
• Is this project tax exempt? Yes. NCO19 to provide certificate.
• Can the VA provide what is expected for ICRA in each location (add to excel spreadsheet)?
As some locations are straight forward and others are more complex. ICRA Notes added to spreadsheet column E. Presuming windows are replaced from the exterior, ICRA will be no more than Level 2 / seal the inside of the window/work area with plastic sheeting. If work is conducted inside, up to Level 3 in some areas may be required.
• Who do we need to contact to do the road closure for Ped Bridge glass replacement? Note added within Column D. Lane Closure/coordination must be made with CU Anschutz Facilities/Traffic team. COR will facilitate. Signage/traffic planning for lane closure is somewhat similar to City of Aurora requirements.
• Will we be able to park in the load dock area to be able to stage the glass on the truck?
Parking for active work and material staging can be coordinated for the loading dock area and/or the PVS/PVN decks or ED parking lot. Parking in these locations will be for active work/transfer only, general parking must be either in PVN or oversized lot north of PSN.
