About this file
This is a Question and Answer (Q&A) Set #2 document from the Department of General Services Procurement division regarding Printers and Multifunctional Devices, dated April 6, 2016 (Event ID #0000000258). The document addresses three specific inquiries related to Group 4 specifications for wide format multifunction devices. Two requests for changes were submitted: one regarding the EPEAT requirement for the scanner portion of MFD Wide Format 4B, and another requesting the removal of Postscript printing as a requirement. Both requests were denied by the state, maintaining the original specifications.
The document also addresses a technical issue regarding Exhibit 11.28(4) Cost Worksheet Group 4, Sheet 4B, where bidders reported that the OEM Price list location cell was locked and preventing data entry. The state responded that this technical issue would be resolved in Addendum 2.

Department of General Services, Procurement Question and Answer (Q&A) Set #2 Printers, Multifunctional Devices Dated 4/6/16
Event ID #: 0000000258 Question and Answer (Q&A) Set #2
Item Bidder Questions State’s Response 1-1 Referencing Exhibit 11.22A, Group 4 Specifications
Request for Change: We are requesting that the scanner portion of MFD Wide Format 4B be excluded from the EPEAT requirement. The scanner does not output any material, thus making a significant portion of EPEAT certification irrelevant.
The Energy Star rating covers the primary environmental impact of any scanner. Also, by making this adjustment, the State will make the Group much more competitive.
Decision: No – the requirement will remain the same.
Referencing Exhibit 11.22A, Group 4 Specifications
Request for Change: We are requesting that Postscript printing be removed as a requirement. We understand you have a need to print from a wide variety of programs. This can be achieved without Postscript and you would still arrive at the same result. Perhaps changing the requirement to reference the programs you need to be able to print from would be more appropriate. It would also more thoroughly open up the competition.
Decision: No – the requirement will remain the same.
RE: Addendum 1 - Exhibit 11.28(4) Cost Worksheet Group_4, Sheet 4B
Fix: The OEM Price list location cell in Exhibit 11.28 (4)Sheet B is locked and we are unable to enter any data. Would you us to include a page with this listing?
Corrected: This will be fixed in Addendum 2.
