About this file
This is a public notice published in the Clarion Ledger by the Mississippi Department of Archives and History (MDAH) soliciting qualifications from exhibit design firms for a design/build project at the Grand Village of the Natchez Indians site in Natchez, Mississippi. The project is part of a larger initiative to revitalize and rebrand the site as the Natchez Tribal History Center (NTHC). Proposals will be accepted at the William F. Winter Building in Jackson, Mississippi until 5 PM on May 21, 2025, with proposal containers required to be clearly marked with a specific RFQ identification number (RFQ# 3140004204). The Request for Qualifications document can be accessed online, and questions about the RFQ should be submitted via email to nthcexhibitdesignrfq@mdah.ms.gov.
The procurement seeks an exhibit design firm to comprehensively develop exhibits across 4,420 square feet of exhibition space, with a total project budget of $3.5 million. The contract is scheduled to begin in August 2025, with an end date of December 31, 2027, and a targeted opening date of 2027. The evaluation process will use a 100-point scale, considering technical factors, cost, management factors, and an interview. While no specific set-aside designations are mentioned, the project emphasizes collaboration with MDAH staff, Tribal partners, and the project architect, with a primary objective of preserving and presenting the history of the Natchez Indians at their National Historic Landmark site.
