8:351 The complexity of the work required for removal of existing blast booths and monster press (Tags 336, 338a, 338b, and 801) is such that an accurate estimate for removal cannot be made without detailed drawings indicating how the equipment is assembled. Please advise as to the Navy's proposed path forward on these items if drawings are not available.
The Shipyard will be responsible for the demolition of this equipment. The KTR will be responsible for removing the dismantled equipment from the building, and moving it to a location on the Shipyard as determined by the Shipyard.
452 10/31/2018 Reference Volume 3, Details B4 & D4/A‐413 and Detail D2/A‐507: We are unable to locate a manufacturer to provide horizontal panels with the 5/8" faux joint in the panels as shown on the details. We propose to offer the panels in shorter lengths with full joints as detailed in D1/A‐507. The location of the joints would not change. Please confirm this is acceptable.
There are manufacturers that can meet the design intent. Please meet the intent of the design per the current drawings and specification.

485 11/13/2018 It is understood that the 365 day award timeframe allowance in General Note 1.3.e of Attachment F is to provide the Govt. flexibility relative to award and funds availability. It is noted that award of certain CLINs after initial contract award will affect the contractor's ability to adhere to the phasing schedule provided in Amendment 10. As one example, the work of CLIN 0029 is shown to occur in Phase 1 and if award of this CLIN is made after initial contract award the work is unlikely to be completed within the currently identified Phase 1 timeframe of 290 calendar days. Amendment 15, PPI #14 identifies the phasing schedule as an approximation. Please confirm that the phasing schedule will be adjusted based upon actual CLIN award timing. Additionally, 52.211‐12 Liquidated Damages ‐ Construction, included on page 51 of 67 of the Solicitation, identifies a Liquidated Damages Breakdown by Phase per calendar day. If the phasing schedule is an approximation and the phasing may need to be adjusted based upon CLIN award timing, please advise how will liquidated damages be applied.
It is the Government's intention to award options in accordance with the phasing schedule. In the event that this does not occur, these concerns will be addressed at that time.

529 11/20/2018 Does the bag breaking / cutting area require a grated area with dust aspiration venting that allows low dust area for the operator of the Rubber compounding machine? A video of such an example is provided in the attached link.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vn6ivxICrbM
Manually breaking the bag over a bin/ hood attached to the dust collector system would be acceptable.
The desesign goal is to keep the carbon black dust contained and not be a housekeeping problem that get tracked around the production areas.

530 11/20/2018 Sheet A‐005, Volume 3, shows the concept of the air/vapor barrier extending down the interior side of the concrete stem walls (Details A1, A2 & A3) and then transitioning to the exterior of the foundation (Detail A4). The details on the A‐500 series of drawings show the air/vapor barrier stopping at the top of the concrete stem wall with no additional barrier applied to the concrete stem wall. Are we correct to interpret the stem wall and the foundation wall as being the continuation of the air/vapor barrier with no additional barrier attached?
Spray insulation is applied to the backside of the stem wall providing continuation of the air vapor barrier.
A reglet with counter flashing over bituminous membrane and rigid insulation behind occurs below grade on the exterior of the stem wall. The perimeter of foundation is insulated and protected with a 3 ply 15 mil reinforced vapor barrier.
531 11/20/2018 Detail B2/ A‐512, Volume 3: Similar to the question above, this detail shows a 15mil reinforced vapor barrier on the exterior of the foundation wall. The dashed line only extends about a foot. This detail is not shown elsewhere; is it correct? How far down does the barrier extend? There is no specification for a 15 mil reinforced vapor barrier.
Specification 03 30 00, paragraph 2.4.6: Drawing adjusted to reflect specification Please reference amended drawings. The vertical material on exterior side of the foundation was changed in design revision 4 drawings .
532 11/20/2018 Detail B2/ A‐512, Volume 3: This detail further shows a 15mil reinforced vapor barrier on the underside of the concrete flor slab. Specification 03 30 00, paragraph
2.4.6 specifies a three ply vapor barrier with each ply a minimum of 15 mils for a total thickness of 45 mils.
Which is correct?
B2‐A512 has been adjusted to reflect the specification.
533 11/20/2018 Is the "sheet membrane" shown for the elevator pits (A1/S‐301), containment trenches (D1/S‐301), Very Large Parts wall (A3/S‐503) and the blast booths recovery pits (C3/S‐506) meant to be the Elastomeric Sheet Waterproofing specified in Section 07 13 53?

2.1.7 there is no clean room in this specification. On 1/14/2018, a vendor made a statement that a "clean room vestibule shall be provided at each mandoor‐ to enable the operator to blow off their outer blast suits before exiting the booth?" Are we to supply a total of eight (8) air showers? thats two (2) per booth...one (1) per door? Also, The question implies that the air shower(s) will be inside the booth to clean the operator before exiting the booth. This would not be practical and reduce the work space. Please clarify and advise exactly what is required.
Clean room/changing room is not required inside blast booths;
temporary clean/dirty changing tents will be provided by the Shipyard as required.
