2.1.1.5C

"Elevated equipment shall be accessed…." The air wash separator is a critical component / process for the abrasive and abrasive reclaim system. The air wash requires constant adjustments to achieve proper abrasive cleaning. We suggest the air wash separator to be ground mounted for ease of operator and maintenance personnel. Would the customer consider a ground mounted air wash separator? (a second short bucket elevator would be required ‐ see attached ACM)

Contractor should refer to Q‐101 to determine to space available for media recovery systems. The plan north of the blast booth is reserved for auxiliary equipment. The space between the rails and to the south must be kept clear for product work flow. The contractor can provide alternative systems. The media recovery , filtration, dust collection system must be functional and reliable.

10/4/2018 FROM PAINT BOOTH SUPPLIER: RE: Section 11‐20‐04, Tag # 17 & 18. This piece of equipment is called a sanding, grinding and paint booth. We are concerned and need to be sure that the grinding mode will not cause sparks. If there would be still wet paint or primer in the filters and then a spark was introduced to this filter media, and explosion and fire would be imminent.

Please confirm there will be zero chance of sparks created in these booths.

Sanding and painting will not take place at the same time. The sanding is for fiberglass parts. There should be no metal grinding in the fiberglass booth.
