3.0 ITEM LOCATION/DESCRIPTION:

3.1. Location: Cargo JP5 Tank 7-105-0-JJ.

4.0 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT/MATERIAL/SERVICES: None

5.0 NOTES:

5.1. The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier, must consult the General Technical Requirements (GTR) to determine applicability to this Work Item. In performance of this Work Item, the contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier, must comply with the requirements of all applicable GTR’s.

5.2. The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier, are advised to review other Work Items under this contract to determine their effect on the work required under this Work Item. Many of the definitions relating to performance of this work item are found in Work Item 001.

5.3. Tank testing requirements identified in Paragraph 7 may be accomplished in any order or concurrently provided that all boundaries of all spaces are tested. Contractor shall not be compensated for multiple fill and discharge of individual tanks unless subject tanks had failed first tank boundary inspection due to a material condition.

6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS:

6.1. Accomplish tank internal inspections prior to the boundary testing of each individual tank.

7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIRED:

7.1. Provide all labor, material, special tools to perform the work described in this work item.

7.2. Ship’s force and contractor representative shall jointly tag out/safety lock out all equipment associated with the operation of pumps and valves for the 7-105-0-JJ Cargo JP5 tank.

7.3. Clean and Gas Free of the 7-150-0, 7-105-0 and 7-65-0 tanks are covered under Work Item 021.

7.4. All work is to be completed in conjunction with ballasting the 7-105-0-JJ tank for entering drydock.

7.5. Contractor shall remove deck plate interferences to access four cargo tank cleaning openings that have plates welded on top. See Reference 2.1.5 for exact locations of plates.

7.5.1 Remove welded covers on tank cleaning openings. It is preferred to remove the covers by grinding vice welding; it is ultimately the contractors decision on the method of the welded cover plates. Removal is of the welded covers only, not the bolted cover that is underneath the welded plate.

7.5.2 Blank off tank and stripping pump bellmouths. Blanks shall be catalogued on the Tank Test Matrix. Once testing is completed, remove all blanks from pump suctions. It will be required to remove fencing around cargo tank suction wells therefore this labor is to be included in the work item pricing. Should the contractor choose to not blank the pump suctions, the government shall not be held responsible for system valve leakage resulting in the tank resulting to hold pressure.

7.5.3 The 7-150-0-FF/JJ and 7-65-0-FF Cargo tanks shall only be required to be cleaned safe for men only FOR THIS EVOLUTION. This is to allow the ABS Surveyor to examine tank boundaries, if required. Once this work item is completed, the standards set forth in work item 021 for the 7-150-0-FF/JJ and 7-65-0-FF apply.

7.6. Fill the 7-105-0-JJ tank with ballast water, to an amount is in agreement between the dockmaster, MSC Naval Architect and ABS to satisfy the requirements for hydrostatic testing and docking the vessel.

7.6.1. When agreed upon level has been attained, xxamine all boundaries and associated penetrations, all platforms, ladders, and handrails along with their corresponding securements for structural integrity.

7.6.2. Submit an as found report for any discrepancies; if none are discovered, the QA check point sheet shall act as the record of completion.

7.6.3. When hydrostatic testing requirements are complete on the 7-105-0-JJ tank, contractor shall empty and clean the tank in accordance with WI 021.

8.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: None.
