1.0 ABSTRACT
1.1 This item describes the requirements to repair various weather deck drain piping sections throughout the vessel.
2.0 REFERENCES and ENCLOSURES:

3.0 LOCATION /DESCRIPTION/OUTFITTINGS:

3.3 Outfitting:
3.3.1 2 IPS, Schedule 40, SSL Pipe; 80 linear feet.
3.3.2 Stainless Steel Pipe Hangers; 30 ea.
4.0 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT/ MATERIAL: None.
5.0 NOTES
5.1 The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier, must consult the General Technical Requirements to determine applicability to this Work Item. In performance of this Work Item, the contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier, must comply with the requirements of all applicable GTR's, including but not limited to, GTR's 1 through 7 and 24.
5.2 The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier, are advised to review the other Work Items under this contract to determine their effect on the work required under this Work Item. Many of the definitions relating to the performance of this Work Item are found in Work Item 001.
6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS:
6.1 All welding Certification, Materials and Procedures shall be in accordance with American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) requirements.
7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIRED
7.1 Arrangement and outfitting:
7.1.1 Provide initial outfitting listed in Para 3.3.
7.2 Structural:
7.3 Mechanical and Fluids
7.3.1 The contractor and MSCREP shall perform a ship tour no later than day three to identify areas for repair. If more than eighty linear feet is identified or a different size pipe is required, a contract change order shall be issued to cover the excess linear footage.
7.3.2 Provide labor and material to replace deteriorated sections of weather deck drain piping. The following requirements apply to all of the piping repairs and surrounding area affected by this work item.
a Obtain required hot work certifications.
b Protect ships equipment and structure and deck coverings from damage in area of work.
c New pipe sections shall be targeted and templated from existing (as found required); and shaped, hung, fitted, and/or flanged as per existing arrangement. Estimate one hundred sixty hours (160) of pipefitting hours to replace initial 80 linear feet of drainage piping.
d Estimate that 40 hours of pipe bending and shaping will be required.
e Estimate one hundred sixty hours of fire watch will be required.
f Replace gaskets in all new and disturbed mechanical joints.
g Contractor to replace all disturbed pipe hangers with new CRES hangers using new rubber lining material and new CRES hardware. Hanger replacement shall include hanger legs and support(s).
h Provide safe staging and platforms to work from while accomplishing work. For bidding purposes estimate that thirty feet of staging (total) will be required. If an excess of thirty feet is required, submit condition report and a contract change order shall be negotiated for the additional staging.
i Crop out and install new 2 IPS, Schedule 40, stainless steel drain pipe, pipe hangars, brackets, in way of deteriorated areas.
j Grind flush all scabs, scarfs and stubs smooth and flush to decks, bulkheads and structure.

7.6 Preparation of Drawings and Documents:
7.7 Inspection and Test:
7.7.1 Accomplish the following test to the repaired deck drains:
7.7.2 CHECKPOINT: Perform a Static head hydro test by completely filling repaired deck drain pipe runs. Prove drains are free and clear in the presence of the MSCREP.
7.8 Painting
7.8.1 Grit blast all new pipe, standoffs, pipe hangars, and brackets to provide a 2-4 mil profile prior to installation and paint with contractor furnished inorganic zinc primer, one strip coat of epoxy primer, one full coat of epoxy primer and one full coat of urethane to match surrounding all coats to be 5-6 mils DFT unless specified otherwise in product application guide.
7.8.2 Perform SSPC-SP-3 on disturbed area to be painted. Feather to solid paint and paint all effected, soiled and disturbed area to match surroundings
