About this file
This document contains details regarding a forthcoming federal contract opportunity for dismantlement and disposal of Surface Ship Support Barges. The Naval Sea Systems Command will hold an Industry Day on November 6, 2018 to discuss plans to dismantle and dispose of these barges. The Industry Day will include a morning government presentation providing an overview of the scope, regulatory framework, transportation options, and characterization of hazardous materials. Attendees will then have the opportunity for 30-40 minute one-on-one sessions in the afternoon to discuss alternatives, concerns, and suggestions related to a future solicitation. Interested parties are requested to RSVP by October 29 with attendee details and may submit additional questions in advance of the event. This Special Notice provides information on the Industry Day but does not constitute a formal Request for Proposal.
