MOBILE AIRCRAFT ARRESTING SYSTEM (MAAS)

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) FA8534-23-R-0001

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

06 JUNE 2023

Q1. We are requesting an extension for an additional 15 days.

A1. At this time, the request is denied.

Q2. Is the quote validity from the date of new submittal still expected to be 120 days?

A2. Yes

Q3. The base contract and option year 1 quantities are not listed as BEQs. Does this mean that the surge quantities of the base contract and option year 1 are firm quantities?

A3. The basic period and option 1 period quantities are listed as BEQs, pg. 9 and 10 of

RFP Amendment 0006.

Q4. The RFP states that the Base Contract is 24 months. Of those 24 months, the RFP has listed that the First Article Test unit is due 420 days from Contract Award and the First Article Test Report is due 30 days after completion of First Article Test. In the Statement of Work, it states the 120 days for First Article Test, but this is not listed as its own item number in the RFP. It is assumed that the Delivery Order for the 28 surge units in the Base Contract will not take place until the completion of the First Article Test. Is this a correct assumption?

A4. That is correct – the FAT unit will be completed and approved first prior to any surge order being placed.
