Contractor Questions Due: 14 July 2011 Answers Posted on FBO – Amendment 05 – 28 July 2011
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS:
1. Concerning the tree referred to in Amendment #4, please provide the size (girth) x (height) of the tree. Also, where is the tree located pertaining to existing utilities that may need to be moved. Will there be any equipment requirements for the removal process?
Answer: The tree in question is on the North East corner of the building. The trunk is about two and a half feet in diameter and about 35 feet tall. The stump will not need to be removed and no utilities will need to be relocated. There are nitrogen tanks in the area though, so the contractor should be aware that care will need to be taken to keep the tree from falling in the direction of the nitrogen tanks/lines.
2. According to Specification Sections 15410.1.03.b.2, 15420.1.03.b.2., & 15515.1.03.b.2 "The Plum/Mech Contractor must be Licensed in both their state of origin and the State of Utah." Because this is a Federal Project, funded with Federal money and on Federal property, can the requirement for the Plumb/Mech Contractor to be Licensed in the State of Utah be waived as long as they are Licensed, with a Master License in their state of origin?
Answer: The specifications containing the verbiage pertaining to Utah Licensing have been revised to state that the Contractor/Installer must be licensed as a firm in the Contractor state of origin. The revised project documents are attached and have been incorporated into Section J of the solicitation.
