Vehicle Maintenance workload is defined in terms of the average number of intermediate and minor maintenance work orders opened and closed in a given month as result of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements. These factors are further represented by averaging the number of direct and indirect labor hours invested for each repair action (work order). Direct labor is time spent in direct repair of a vehicle. Indirect labor is overhead time spent in the support of vehicle repairs, such as parts research/requisition, work order processing, clean-up, hazardous material/waste management, administration and supervision.
