The door schedule indicates “label hours” for some door numbers. Are they the fire resistance rating (minutes) of the entire door set, including the door (wood doors), glazing portion, and the frame (HM/steel), or each required in the respective specification section?

These are the fire resistance rating (min) for the entire door and frame assembly for each particular door noted.

76 Drawing AE610 Identify fire‐rated, smoke‐rated, STC‐required doors if any among the doors listed on the schedule with their required performances.

Fire or smoke‐rated doors are listed in the Door Schedule on AE610 and requirements noted in Division 08 specification sections. No additional special STC ratings for doors; STC ratings are met per requirements of UFC 4‐510‐01 which take into account openings.

77 Drawing AE610 Provide specification for the door #UD17B (Door type CG, aluminum coiling shutter, label hour 45) including materials, accessories, installation, and fire rating details.

Is there any specific scaffolding requirement for piping and duct work which will be performed inside of ceiling, since the height of inside ceiling is high?

Scaffolding is a construction means and methods item and is up to the contractor to determine what works best for the project.

86 Drawing Same as above

The functional outage of duct, sprinkler, fire alarm etc. will be assumed outside of Phasing work. In such case, will temporary supply be required? And also for large area outage, will specific outage sequence and time be directed from the government or facility?

Per specification section 01 11 00, paragraph 1.35, facility wide system updates will need to be coordinated with COR. Contractor is responsible for maintaining fire/life safety code requirements during construction. These outages are a construction means and methods and up to the contractor but could be maintained with temporary systems or fire watch as needed.

87 Drawing Same as above Is there any area which work cannot be performed during the daytime and/or has any specific restriction?

See Phasing Plans starting on GI104 for department specific information on limitations of performance of work. Per specification section 01 11 00, paragraph 1.35, work to be performed outside of typical work days shall be coordinated with the COR, same with facility wide system updates.

88 Drawing Same as above Is there any area which has specific restrictions for construction vibrating and sound issues? (e.g. Anchoring and material cutting )

Any activities which cause significant vibrations or noise adjacent to occupied areas are to be coordinated with facilities a minimum of one week prior to schedule this work to minimize disruptions.

89 Drawing Same as above Will any existing defect for existing piping work be additional to the referenced project or repaired by MAB shop? (e.g. Flow rate defect due to scale adhesion in the existing pipe)

Design team is unaware of any existing piping defects.

90 Drawing Same as above If a specific maintenance contractor is established for medical gas pipe equipment, could you provide us the name of the contractor so that we will be able to incorporate it to our estimation?

The maintenance contractor is ASY. HVAC is usually subcontracted to Trane and the Med Gas is with the Tohoku Air Water, Inc. from Hachinohe.

91 Drawing GI100, MP100C‐A1, MP100D‐A1 Since removal of existing ceiling is not specified, will work to be performed without the existing ceiling removal? In such case, will material carry‐in/out port be planned in somewhere?

Per specification section 01 11 00, paragraphs 1.4b, "Repair or replace portions of existing work which have been altered during construction operations to match existing or adjoining work, as approved by the Contracting Officer's Representative. At the completion of operations, existing work must be in a condition equal to or better than that which existed before new work started". For utility work outside of the main areas of renovation, ceilings may be removed to the extent needed to perform the work and shall be reinstalled, patched/repaired, or replaced as needed per project requirements.

92 Drawing AE610 Door Schedule Please indicate the quantity/dimensions/locations of fire rated steel doors. Are there fire rated wood doors ? If so, please indicate quantity/dimensions/locations and fire rated time.

This information is provided in the Door Schedule on AE610.

93 Solicitation Page 35 of 38, Paragraph 4(a)

Solicitation, Page 35 of 38, Paragraph 4(a) states “Each written part of the proposal” must be separately bound in two ring binder. Solicitation does not have any “written” parts, as Part 1 is solicitation documents, Part 2 is Pricing document, and Part 3 is PPI/PPQ copies. It would appear that absent any requirement for a Technical Proposal, the volume of documents to be submitted for Part 1, 2, and 3 are too minimal to warrant individual two‐ring binders. Please advise what must be provide in two ring binders?

Offerors are required to submit only the documents requested for each part. Technical proposal is NOT required by this solicitation.

Continue to follow the instructions given under the proposal preparation instructions. If all three parts can be included in one two ring binder, offerors are permitted to do so and to insert a table of contents and tabs for each part.

94 Solicitation Page 35 of 38, Paragraph 4(a) Solicitation, Page 35 of 38, Paragraph 4(a) states That “each part shall contain…”Cross References””. Please clarify this requirement?

Insert a table of contents for each of three parts. If necessary, insert cross references, the list of tables and drawings for each part. For example, if the proposal accomplishes a specific part of the SOW or specifications, cross‐references may be used to clarify which part.
