About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for construction services supporting the MAGIS-100 infrastructure modifications at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, effective December 9, 2025 (Revision 0). The contractor must provide all labor, materials, tools, supervision, transportation, bonding costs, safety oversight, and quality control to relocate and install utilities in the MINOS Service building shaft to accommodate the MAGIS-100 experiment installation. Specific work scope includes: demolishing and reinstalling the existing supply air duct in a new location; demolishing and relocating the sump pump discharge pipe; carefully relocating an existing stainless steel oil fill pipe with temporary supports to prevent damage; installing new chilled water taps; and installing all new utilities before demolishing existing ones to minimize downtime.
The project schedule spans 199 calendar days from Notice to Proceed, with five key milestones: (1) Day 0 – NTP issued; (2) Day 49 – Product submittals and shop drawings submitted and reviewed; (3) Day 139 – Construction complete with punch-list items remaining; (4) Day 169 – Punch-list items completed; and (5) Day 199 – Closeout documentation submitted, final invoices and retainage paid, and project complete. Major deliverables include a pre-construction meeting to confirm scope understanding, product submittals and shop drawings as specified in technical specifications, and closeout documentation upon construction completion. The work is in support of Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory's Infrastructure Services Division (ISD).

Statement of Work (SOW) – Construction Services for MAGIS-100 Infrastructure Modifications
Construction Services in support of Infrastructure Services Division (ISD)
9 December 2025 Revision 0
Subcontractor Construction Statement of Work
Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory 2
Introduction and Background
The MINOS Service building was constructed in 2002 to provide service access to the underground MINOS detector hall, absorber hall, and NuMI beamline. The MAGIS-100 experiment is currently being planned to be installed in the open shaft connecting the service building to the underground enclosure. In preparation for this experiment installation, several of the existing utilities in the shaft must be relocated by this project.
Scope
Provide all work as shown on the attached Construction Documents (drawings and technical specifications) to provide a new, fully operable plumbing/HVAC system. Furnish all required supervision, labor, materials, tools, plant and appurtenances necessary to perform diligently and fully all work as described in the drawings and technical specifications. All work includes transportation, overhead, bonding costs, safety oversight, quality control oversight, and supervision as required to construct the project described in the drawings and technical specifications.
1. Demolish existing supply air duct and install new in location shown on plans.
2. Demolish existing sump pump discharge pipe and install new in location shown on plans.
3. Relocate existing stainless steel oil fill pipe in new location shown on plans. It is essential this piping be relocated without pinching, breaking, or otherwise damaging the piping. Temporary supports must be put in place to prevent excessive force placed on existing joints.
4. Install new chilled water taps in location shown on plans.
5. Install all new utilities prior to demolition of existing utilities to reduce utility downtime as much as possible.
Deliverables
The following is a list of major deliverable events with a description of FFDG’s expectation of the minimum requirements for accepting each deliverable.
• Pre-Construction Meeting o Confirm understanding of project scope.
• Product Submittals & Shop Drawings o Provide project Design Coordinator with product submittals and shop drawings as described in the technical specifications.
• Closeout Documentation o Provide project Design Coordinator with closeout documentation upon completion of construction as described in the technical specifications.
Schedule
The following table lists each deliverable milestone and FFDG’s expectation of scheduled calendar days for each phase. Calendar days are listed from project start. Values in parentheses are calendar days from completion of the previous listed entry.
