SCOPEOF SERVICES
Background and Project Description:
The Department’s Coastal Construction Control Line Program has received a CCCL permit application to construct a retaining wall. The design of the retaining wall is based upon a geotechnical engineering report submitted with the application. Mott MacDonald has been asked to review and comment on the geotechnical engineering report, to include, but not limited to, an opinion on the assumptions, parameters, and methods used in the geotechnical analysis.
Tasks within the Scope of Work:
Task 1. Review and Memorandum (Task Fee: $2,418.26)
We understand that a new, driller pier concrete retaining wall is proposed to retain dune sands and adjacent property structures for property improvements for the Serenata Condominiums. A drawing set titled “Proposed Property Improvements for Serenata Condominiums” dated March 16, 2020 by Tocoi Engineering, LLC has been submitted, along with a summary letter and supporting calculations for slope stability analysis dated March 2, 2020 by Jackson Geotechnical Engineering, LLC. As part of our work, Mott MacDonald will review the provided submissions for technical adequacy and completeness, as well as general constructability considerations. We will provide a brief, typed memorandum which will include a summary of our review, as well as comments related to the slope stability evaluation. We will host a phone discussion with FDEP shortly after providing our evaluation to walk through the comments. Our man hour estimate currently assumes our initial review of the provided documents, preparation of a short memo, and a discussion with FDEP. We have also included up to four hours of Engineer IV time and 2 hour of Senior Project Manager time to allow for review and comment of up to one re submission.
DELIVERABLE:
1.) Provide a brief memorandum that includes a summary of the review of the provided geotechnical engineering report, along with technical comments.
