About this file
The document is a Labor & Material Payment Bond for the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency, specifically on behalf of the Housing Authority of the City of Sacramento and the Housing Authority of the County of Sacramento. The bond serves as a financial guarantee that ensures the principal contractor will promptly pay all claimants (subcontractors, suppliers, and laborers) for labor and materials used in the performance of a contract. The bond covers 100% of the contract price and provides protection for subcontractors and suppliers who might not be directly contracted with the principal contractor.
The bond outlines specific conditions for potential claims, including a 90-day window for claimants to seek payment after completing their work or supplying materials, and a one-year statute of limitations for bringing suit. The bond can be reduced by payments made in good faith, including mechanics' liens. The document is structured to provide legal recourse for claimants while protecting the interests of the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency, ensuring that contractors and their subcontractors are financially accountable for the proper execution of their contractual obligations.
