About this file
This is an Advanced Reporting Overview document for an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System implementation. The document outlines the reporting capabilities and data analytics infrastructure provided through the Program's ECC and SuccessFactors systems, along with advanced HANA Analytics functionality. The Program delivers in-system reporting through multiple platforms: ECC provides standard and custom transaction code reports that users cannot modify, while SuccessFactors Reporting Center allows users to run, copy, modify, or create reports based on security roles. Advanced reporting is facilitated through HANA Analytics, which enables agencies to query their own data against pre-built views and reports, with select users granted access to Business Intelligence tools for custom report development. The reporting architecture incorporates approximately 100 enterprise-wide Business Objects reports that combine data from multiple views to provide comprehensive datasets and reconciliation capabilities across SAP and external systems.
The advanced reporting infrastructure leverages multiple data integration and delivery mechanisms including BODS, BOBJ, native APIs, and SLT to populate views and tables in HANA Runtime and HANA Enterprise environments. Data from Finance modules is provided live, while data from other modules and external systems are loaded through daily batch processes. End users access these views through Business Objects, ODBC connections, and APIs depending on view configuration and assigned permission roles. The Program provides three Finance Dashboards—Budget Dashboard, Procurement Dashboard, and Cost Collector Dashboard—developed using HANA views and Tableau to deliver interactive visualizations with filtering capabilities based on master data and cost elements such as Fund, Funded Program, and Fund Center. These dashboards enable spending analysis, pattern identification, and support budget tracking, vendor obligation monitoring, and spend collection across state operations, with functionality to download and print reports in multiple formats.

Overview Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System – Advanced Reporting
The Program provides in-system reporting through ECC and SuccessFactors Reporting Center.
ECC provides standard transaction code reports, but also has some custom-built t-codes to provide reports/data identified by the Program. Users cannot copy/modify any of these reports in ECC.
SuccessFactors provides Canvas and Table reports in Reporting Center that are built for the enterprise. Users are allowed to run-only, copy down/modify the enterprise-wide reports, or create their own reports, based on their individual security roles.
The Program provides HANA Analytics functionality with enhanced reporting capabilities. Agencies can query their own data against views/reports that have been built. Based on defined roles, agencies are also provided access to Business Intelligence tools that allow an end user to develop their own report. This advanced reporting is done through tables and views built in HANA RunTime and HANA Enterprise (“data warehouse”). Views are built from SAP datasets as well as data from external systems. Data gets moved into the views via BODS, BOBJ, native APIs, and SLT. The views are available to end users through Business Objects, ODBC connections, and APIs, depending on how the view is established. Enterprise-wide Business Objects reports are available to end users based on permission roles, and a select number of end users are granted rights to build their own reports in Business Objects, or access the datasets via ODBC or API connections.
The views include data from all in-use Finance modules, RCM, EC, and data from a handful of external systems. The data from Finance is live, but the data from the other modules and systems are loaded in a batch process daily.
The enterprise-wide reports are generally complex in build and queries, combining data from multiple views to create comprehensive datasets, and provide reconciliation between SAP processing and external systems. We have roughly 100 enterprise-wide reports.
Tableau Dashboards Tableau Dashboards use views developed in HANA to provide an interactive overview using visualizations to provide insight into information such as an Agency’s budget appropriations, consumption, budget availability, obligation spend and supporting details behind obligations. Filtering is available based on various master data and cost elements such as Fund, Funded Program, Fund Center, etc. Dashboards can be used for analysis and spending patterns, and can be downloaded or printed in easy-to-read format(s). There are 3 Finance Dashboards: Budget Dashboard, Procurement Dashboard and Cost Collector Dashboard. All three look at State spending from different angles. Budget Consumption and Availability, Vendor Obligations and Tracking of Spend through Collectors.
